Please join us for a very special luncheon in Chicago on Saturday, June 22, 2019, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The luncheon will convene at the Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel, in Downtown Chicago.

Please register for this luncheon event not later than Monday, June 17th.

Our springtime Signature Event will honor the memory of one of the first three young women ever to serve as U.S. Senate Pages, Ellen McConnell Blakeman.

Our luncheon program will feature a talk by Chicago Tribune film critic Michael Phillips entitled “How the Movies Play Politics.” Michael’s presentation will encompass a conversation on the evolution of political films. His remarks, including excerpts from movies both famous and relatively unknown, will emphasize the American political landscape in the 20th and early 21st Century. Moreover, Michael will address how movies depict the process and power of political persuasion, while often sending contradictory messages into the cultural mainstream. The audience will have an opportunity to engage Michael with questions following what should be a fascinating talk.
